Troubleshooting
I tapped "Connect Apple Health" but see "No access to Health"
Flexmap needs read access to your workouts. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Flexmap and turn on Workouts and Workout Routes (Heart Rate, Active Energy and the two Distance categories are what put those numbers on the card). Then tap Refresh in the Workouts screen's menu. The "Open Settings" button on the empty screen takes you straight there.
Health is allowed, but the list says "Nothing from Health"
Flexmap shows runs, walks and rides only, and only the most recent 30. Check that:
- the workout was recorded to Apple Health (Apple Watch does this automatically; third-party apps like Strava, Nike Run Club or Garmin Connect need their "write to Health" option on);
- it is one of those three types — hikes, swims, rows and other types are not shown yet;
- Workouts is enabled for Flexmap in the Health settings (it is a separate switch from Workout Routes).
A workout without a GPS route (treadmill, indoor bike) still appears and still gets a stats card — it just has no line to draw and cannot be animated.
The list says "Health unavailable"
That device cannot provide Health data — usually an iPad. Use Demo mode to explore the app, or install Flexmap on your iPhone for your own workouts.
What is Demo mode, and why do I see "Demo data" at the top?
Demo mode loads three sample workouts so you can try every editor without connecting Health. The banner reminds you the numbers are not yours. To switch, tap the data-source menu in the top bar of the Workouts screen and pick Apple Health — you can switch back and forth any time.
"Couldn't load the map — the card exports without it"
The map layer is downloaded when you open a card. If you are offline or the connection dropped, the card still works with the bare route line; reconnect and reopen the card to get the map back. If it never loads on a good connection, tell us — it may be on our side.
Save failed / "Allow photo access in Settings to save"
Saving needs Add Photos Only permission. Go to Settings → Apps → Flexmap → Photos and choose Add Photos Only (or Full Access). Flexmap never needs to read your library to save. If saving still fails, free up some storage and try again; you can also use Share → More and save from the system sheet.
My photo background is gone when I come back to the card
Each workout keeps its own draft, including the photo, until you tap Reset card — that dialog warns it "clears your saved draft for this workout." If you did not reset and the photo is missing, the picked photo may have failed to load (very large or unusual formats). Try picking it again; if it keeps happening, email us the photo's format and size.
The video export failed or got stuck
- "Couldn't export the video": make sure there is enough free storage and that Flexmap is allowed to add to Photos, then try again. Rendering happens on your phone; a draw-on video takes a few seconds, a Flyover about a minute on recent iPhones, longer on older ones. You can leave the screen — it keeps rendering — but do not force-quit the app.
- "Flyover needs a connection": Flyover downloads the 3D map for your route before it renders. Connect to Wi-Fi or cellular and tap the banner to choose again, or pick Draw the route, which works offline once the card has loaded.
- Only one video renders at a time — if the Animate button says Busy, wait for the current one or cancel it from the bar at the top.
I bought Flexmap Pro but it still shows the wordmark / asks me to pay
- Open the Pro screen (the Flexmap Pro item in the Workouts menu, or tap Animate) and tap Restore. This re-checks your purchases with the App Store.
- Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If you see "These purchases belong to a different Apple Account", sign in with that one and restore again.
- If the purchase was made via Ask to Buy or needs bank approval, Pro unlocks by itself once it is approved ("Waiting for approval").
- If you see "Purchase went through" but Pro is still locked, your payment is safe — email us with the App Store receipt and we'll fix it on our side.
Where's the Pro wordmark toggle? / Why is there a "Flexmap" mark on my export?
Free exports carry a small semi-transparent "Flexmap" wordmark in the corner. Flexmap Pro removes it from every PNG and video, lifts the limit on videos, and opens the Canvas for every workout. Templates, formats, palettes, fonts, the map and photo backgrounds are free and stay free.
Why does Save on the Canvas show a lock?
You can edit on the Canvas as much as you like — your layout is kept either way. Saving or sharing a canvas card is free for your first three workouts; the number on the Save button shows how many are left. A workout you've already saved from the Canvas stays free for good, so you can re-save it, share it somewhere else or fix a typo without using another one. After that, saving from the Canvas needs Flexmap Pro. Template cards — including ones with your own photo — are always free.
Can I cancel the subscription?
Yes, any time: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Flexmap Pro. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. The lifetime purchase never renews. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Request a feature
Want a new activity type, a longer video, a different palette, or something we haven't thought of? Email support@flexmap.app with the subject "Feature request" — short is fine. Every request is read, and the ones we build get a reply.
